 Bicentennial Convocation - September 28, 2007 On Friday, September 28, 2007, the Class of 2008, faculty, and guests gathered in the Memorial Gymnasium to open Bridgton Academy's bicentennial year. Board of Trustees President Kevin Hancock, Bicentennial Committee Chair Rod McGarry '57, and Headmaster David Hursty welcomed the assembly and spoke on the Academy's history, mission, and values. Academic Symposium - January 4, 2008 Join Bridgton Academy on January 4, 2008, for its inaugural symposium celebrating 200 years of making the difference. We will explore the issues involving both young men in transition, and the work that educators, parents, and mentors can do in facilitating the transitions that adolescent males face between the start of high school and the completion of college. Dr. Adam Cox, nationally recognized author of trailblazing works on male communication and the concept of executive control, will provide the foundation for the symposium through his presentations. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions before reporting back to the larger group. Reunion/Birthday Party - June 6 - 8, 2008 Make your plans now to join us for our Bicentennial Reunion Weekend, with our Birthday Gala on Saturday, June 7th! A celebration like this only happens once every 200 years, and you won't want to miss it! Highlighting this Bicentennial Reunion Weekend will be a gala dinner/dance Saturday evening, and the Bridgton Academy Alumni Parade in which alumni from each class will form a procession, marching in groups by year of graduation and carrying banners to identify each year.
