Area Information

Bridgton Academy is located in a scenic area of Maine that offers both rural and urban advantages. The town of Bridgton, three miles away, is a center of activity for the surrounding Lakes Region, which attracts visitors who enjoy skiing, boating, hiking, and camping. Bridgton?s restaurants, craft galleries, antique shops, and movie theater attract both vacationers and townspeople.

Students make frequent trips to Portland, Maine?s largest city, located just forty miles away. Portland is a thriving oceanside city offering many cultural and entertainment possibilities with its own symphony orchestra, theaters, historic neighborhoods, museums, restaurants, and boutiques. The University of Southern Maine is located in this city, as is the Maine College of Art. Portland is also home to two professional sports teams: the Portland Pirates, minor hockey league affiliate of the NHL Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, and the Portland Sea Dogs, the AA minor league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox baseball team.
