Hall of Fame Policy & Procedure
Purpose The Bridgton Academy Hall of Fame recognizes those alumni, former faculty, friends of the Academy, and teams who have made significant contributions towards the mission of the Academy and/or distinguished themselves in their chosen careers.
Nomination Procedure Nominations in all categories may be submitted by alumni, friends, or families by completing a nomination form. Nominations may also include a letter from the nominator detailing nominee's record of achievements in the nominee's career and/or their impact on the Academy.
Selection Process All nominees are considered by the Hall of Fame Executive Board, which includes faculty, representatives from BA's Athletic Department, Alumni & Development Office, and select Hall of Fame members. Each nomination and the supporting credentials will be carefully reviewed. A preliminary group of candidates is then selected and forwarded to the Hall of Fame Committee (comprised of all Hall of Fame members) for their top candidate recommendations. Finally, the Executive Board will review the final slate of nominees by category and determine the recipients.
Bridgton Academy Hall of Fame Nomination Categories
Contributor
- Alumni (15 years removed from the Academy), Faculty (retired or five years removed from the Academy), and volunteers
- Made outstanding contributions and/or offered extraordinary service to Bridgton Academy
- Distinguished thmselves as an outstanding leader or contributor in their field of expertise.
- Consideration will also be given to citizenship and service consistent with the mission and values of Bridgton Academy
Student / Athlete
- Fifteen years removed from Bridgton Academy
- Participated in varsity athletics at Bridgton Academy
- Made outstanding contributions in competition beyond Bridgton Academy
- Consideration will also be given to citizenship and service consistent with the mission and values of Bridgton Academy
Faculty / Coach
- Cannot be currently employed by Bridgton Academy
- Are considered eligible upon retirement, death, of five years after leaving Bridgton Academy for other employment
- Must have made outstanding contributions to academics or athletics, as well as the Bridgton Academy community
- Consideration will also be given to citizenship and service consistent with the mission and values of Bridgton Academy
Family
- Families with multiple members having close ties to the Academy (alumni, volunteers, and past faculty) are eligible.
- Multiple members of the family have made outstanding contributions to Bridgton Academy and/or offered extraordinary service to Bridgton Academy
- Cannot be currently employed, attending, or in volunteer service to Bridgton Academy
- Consideration will also be given to citizenship and service consistent with the mission and values of Bridgton Academy
Team
- Recognition of a team who has established a benchmark by which others may be measured
- Members of the team have made significant contributions to Bridgton Academy and /or offered extraordinary service
- Team has exhibited unusual traits of community, commitment, and accomplishment
- Ten years removed from Bridgton Academy
