HOMETOWN: Germantown, MD

IN HIGH SCHOOL: I was an average student who thought that lacrosse was going to get me into college.

HEARD ABOUT BA: I was being recruited for lacrosse by Towson, but didn't meet the academic requirements to be accepted.  The coach suggested that I do a postgraduate year, and Bridgton was one of the prep schools he said to look at.

GOALS AT BA: To get into good school with a good lacrosse program.

BA IS DIFFERENT FROM HIGH SCHOOL:  Living here, the boarding aspect, is different because I went to a public school.  It's better because it keeps you secluded from other things, like going out every night and on weekends. Instead, you study, lift weights, and do the good things.  BA is also a lot smaller; in high school, my graduating class was 500 students, while this one is about 190.

BEST THING ABOUT BA:  Meeting new people from a ton of different states, and all the different accents.  Also, learning about the New England area; I had been to Boston, but not to Maine until my campus visit.

WORST THING ABOUT BA: Not being able to go out with your friends from home.  You make friends here, but you still have your friends back home.

ACTIVITIES AT BA:  I played hockey all my life, and I was going to play here, but then I thought that playing lacrosse and hockey, and doing schoolwork would be too much.  I want to focus on school and lacrosse, but also play intramural hockey and tennis.

OUTSIDE SCHOOL:  I love to be active so playing any sport; I'm not a big video game guy like a lot of guys are here.  I also love hanging out with friends.

ROLE MODEL: I look up to my parents.  My older brother is a role model; I was always around my older brother and his friends until I was in the 6th grade.  My sister is an excellent student, so I try to take from her good study habits. A lot of athletes…Barry Sanders was an amazing football player-small guy, but quick.  Lance Armstrong has overcome a lot.

FAVORITE BOOK: Lord of the Flies by William Golding.  There is a lot of conflict and resolution, and it shows how people will change in a certain environment without everything we have today.

FAVORITE MOVIE: Happy Gilmore with Adam Sandler.

FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM: Washington Capitals hockey team.  I've grown up watching them play.

FAVORITE MUSIC:  I listen to everything and like alternative and some rock.

FRIENDS WOULD BE SURPRISED TO LEARN: If I could hang out with anyone, it would be with my dog, Millie.  She is half Boxer, half German shepherd, and I miss her more than anything.

BA PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS SHOULD KNOW: It's good for you.  You don't get to go out and party with all your friends, but if you get the job done here, you will be able to do that in the future when you go to college and not flunk out.  If I were in college right now, I can't imagine what kind of a student I'd be.  I'd be having a hard time in my classes, so I'm definitely happy I came here.  It's a big help.  The faculty is great.  I've already learned a lot just in the short time we've been here.
